Why didn't Lisa leave?

It was against all odds that Lisa survived Friday night’s eviction.

As much as any housemate in the past that has been desired to leave, Lisa’s days in the big brother house seemed to be numbered.

Lisa has come to be known as one who does nothing but sit at the bus stop smoking and moaning about other housemates. A few of the housemates have decided her as a schemer and manipulator. Her personal style and vocal expressions when in the grip of passion gives the impression of one who is hard-hearted and unrefined. The latter may accord with those who have particular expectations of refinement. However, closer observation suggests that she is hardly without empathy, dignity or honour.

The fact that she survived last week’s eviction proves that this has not escaped the notice of a significant number of the voting public who voted for her to stay.

On more than one occasion she has put herself out to defend, protect and comfort anyone that was in need, and this she did freely before securing any commitments from them in the way of friendship or loyalty. Her kindness has been invaluable to members of the house when they felt unable to handle challenges that they faced in the house as they confronted personal difficulties through their interactions with other housemates, or simply needed reassurance. Among the housemates to draw comfort from her caring nature were Sree, Angel, Noirin, Kenneth and now David.

Probably, her biggest disadvantage in the house was her intolerance for Freddie, aka Halfwit who she, along with some of the other housemates found instinctively irritating because of his condescending manner and, also suspicious because of his rather naïve declaration about having a game plan. In her usual direct approach she openly confronted Halfwit with any grievances she felt towards him. Perhaps, unused to this kind of directness, Halfwit developed a paranoia towards Lisa which has in recent times bordered on the obsessive. At some point he did manage to see his way through approaching Lisa and talking it out with her. In her simplicity, Lisa may have interpreted this as a peace-making meeting between them which she honoured and went on to exercise great restraint and refrained from further confrontations with him.

The damage was already done, however. Halfwit had won great public sympathy for his days as a victim, in those first couple of weeks, when a couple of the other housemates, namely Carly and Kris were individually intolerant of him. This, combined with the fact that Halfwit continued to promulgate false accusations of conspiracy about her, behind her back, with other housemates as well as in the diary room would be the reason why the public are anti- Lisa. One after another her friends have been removed from the house in a deliberate attempt to break up her group that formed as a natural move – the same as Halfwit has with other housemates - of people falling into smaller groups from an initial multitude.

She also nearly lost one of the last of her remaining friends in Charlie when he temporarily abandoned her after learning that she was not popular with the public. For someone who readily sticks her neck out for others this lack of support must have cut her, and hours later, an argument broke out with Charlie during a group task over some other issue.

Lisa was very surprised and happy to have not been voted out since she had prepared herself for what felt like an inevitability following Halfwit’s taunts earlier and the feeling of other housemates which she sensed; the other housemates being Marcus and Bea.

It would be good to see her survive a few more weeks. Perhaps, then we will get an opportunity to be reminded of the chilled out Lisa that she showed herself to be early on in the show.

Go Lisa…

No More Foreplay..

Noirin and Marcus are up for eviction. I expect that Noirin will be out and can already see the eggs and tomatoes flying at her from the booing crowds.

I do not defend the girl’s faults – for she has got some as the rest of us, but do think that the level of hatred is out of proportion. I hear that her ex Isaac has entered the house and intends to propose to her. I hope he gets on with it and that will put an end to it all. Quite possibly everything she has done has been all because of him.

If Norin remains in the house with her ex there too then Bea can pick up Siavash’s broken heart without contention.

Siavash kept his cool with Noirin as long as Marcus was the only person with his sights set on Noirin. He felt safe knowing that Noirin would never go for Marcus. But, he became desperate when Tom entered the house, and he made his move on her then. Noirin was attracted to him enough to share kisses and cuddles. But, her ex-boyfriend was never far from her mind and she told Siavash where their relationship stood. Siavash had hoped for more so it will take him more time to move on.

This is where Bea comes in. However, Freddy, aka Halfwit would be left in tatters. Halfwit seems to have gone headlong into something he does not understand with someone he does not really know as he thinks he does. This girl believes in free love, not ready sex. So she has been giving her love freely to Halfwit and Marcus, with further plans to extend this to Siavash in the not too distant future. She has already set herself up as a better match for him than Noirin as girlfriend material. Now, is this in the spiritual sense, or..?

Marcus changes his feelings about Noirin based on how much affection she has shown him. He unexpectedly defended her to Bea after she (Noirin) lay next to him by the pool and stroked his hair. Then, later he slagged her off in the BB diary room after she refused to stay at his request following another rant from him when she had tried to have a laugh with him. Marcus, please heed this: being a man in any relationship – even friendship - with a woman sometimes involves going to her when you have hurt her feelings and making things all right between you, not going for revenge if she should dare to feel offended, insulted or hurt.

Oh, and what’s this news about Sree slashing his wrists? What is that all about? ‘Something about a cry for help after watching Thursday’s Big Brother show… I have been following Big Brother but can hardly remember what was aired on Thursday. This guy has enjoyed a run of luck since coming to England to study for his masters. What kind of help did he need? What was he crying out for? We have yet to learn the full story behind this.

Sree might have benefited from having Lisa nearby for it was upon Lisa’s shoulders that he cried in the house when he needed help. Lisa was pretty chilled out in the beginning of the show, and maintained that kind of chilled-out state until very recently. Her usual mates have pretty much dispersed. It has become as Halfwit predicted. Kris left and then Carly followed. After that Sophie, aka Dogface has pretty much fallen in with Noirin, Rodrigo and Marcus. Everybody needs a personal community and without it the individual feels vulnerable. We see that with Lisa especially when she cannot even trust in the loyalty of the one remaining clan being Charlie who fleets about depending on where he feels safest.

Lisa has shown herself to be the type to put herself out for people that she cares about. 'Stands to reason that she would have need of the same from those closest to her.

Also with Marcus the personal community fell apart a bit when his controlling and manipulative behaviour failed to keep Noirin and Siavash from realising an attraction for one another. In the sense of having a personal community and its effects upon the 'alpha' character in this arrangement Lisa and Marcus are quite similar. They were the first to lock horns over Noirin, and both are simultaneously experiencing vulnerability at the dispersal of their personal communities and the discomfiture for them is apparent in both.

So, the foreplay seems to be over between Charlie and Rodrigo and we can now see more of a relaxed and honest interaction between the two. Unfortunately, this probably makes them boring to the BB audience. They seem to be taking on the role of an old married couple these days. But, the fighting between the two has rather lived its course. This evolved state of their relationship does seem fitting.

Hira is conspicuous by her quietness in the house. This girl seemed to be a bubbly character on entrance into the big brother house. The bubbly-ness was almost on a superficial level. But, hardly anybody is completely unnoticeable and she has shown warmth and sincerity in her interactions with the other housemates.

Live feed of Noirin, Marcus and Siavash conversation

I saw a bit of the live feed the other night with Noirin, Marcus and Siavash in the kitchen.

Oh my God! I was elated. That girl has steeliness in her. I am still slightly concerned about her remaining in the house, but not for long because I do feel that she successfully saw off Marcus’s harassment. I can see her going all the way.

Noirin has got the patience of a saint. Marcus ranted and raved, his manner extremely offensive and insulting as he swore and called her all kinds, but she maintained her ground with grace, resilience, and even compassion - qualities that befit a person of a high order.

The difference between the two was never so clear as on that night.

I don’t see him giving up but he must have gained some level of self-awareness that would enable him to see that he will be operating completely by himself and without consequence. Who would not feel a fool in this case? Really!

Just in case. Refrain from exchanging contact details of any sort!

Go Noirin!

I’m sure that there is somebody out there for Marcus. There is someone for everyone.

Get Noirin Out Now, Before Eviction Night!

The nominations have been read out and Noirin is amongst those that are up for eviction.

I am very nervous about this. Marcus will not waste time. He has already created an alibi for himself in saying to the other housemates that Noirin was doing things that suggested something other than the words she spoke repeatedly to him clearly stating that she was not interested.

He dismisses what she says with words like: “She keeps banging on about friendship and things like that, but - .” But, what? He is going to go right ahead and ignore her and enforce his own will upon her, instead?

This man is underdeveloped. He is like a missing link, but with added smartness. This a very dangerous combination for one so determined. He is not operating from the same level as civilised and reasonable human beings. However, he is 10 paces ahead of everybody else. He has created an environment where this girl has no supporters or protectors in the house and levied accusations at her that she knows nothing about and is not in a position to deny because she is cut off from people that may seek explanation as to this man's claims.

She, being of basic good-nature and wanting to see the best in another person has decided that this man is sweet.

Beauty and the beast this may be. But, it is no fairy tale.

Noirin needs to get out now!

Big Brother has created a new practice of calling housemates into the diary room to warn them where things might be getting out of hand. I wonder why they do not intervene here?

Marcus Leave Noirin Alone!

Something bad is trying to happen and everything in and out of the house is enabling this to become an inevitability. Marcus is a beast, a vile creature that has been very deliberate from the start in his move to embed himself into Noirin’s world. He has successfully managed to create a divide between her and Siavash who was potentially a good friend and ally to her, and we can see him doing the same about Lisa. Now, he has begun again to make demands on her in the vulnerable state that she is in right now demanding that she come near to him before he could advice her about the mess he has created for her. Later, he offered to give her a ‘non-sexual’ rob on her bad back. She refused this but soon she will be unable to refuse him because he has removed every option for her to say ‘no’ to him rather than because she actually wants him. He is not at all respectful of her wishes and is still trying to get ‘in’ there.

How is this happening in full view without anyone stopping it?

It must be that people can see what is happening. They should be trying to get him evicted from the house now.

People want to evict Kris because of something to do with him being a womaniser. He is involved with Dogface, Sophie and people want to protect her. Surely, Noirin's situation with Marcus is far more critical than that of Sophie's. Kris is a young man in his early 20s who is still growing. He talked of being a womaniser but more as a confession or reflective thing that he was transitioning from whilst in the big brother house. He may slip up in his attempts but he is trying to change. Also, he had a rather disagreeable disposition especially because of his treatment of Halfwit, Freddie before but he changed over time and is a genuine person.

Marcus is an insidious creep older man very unrepentant in nature. He just keeps finding more and more ways to work his wiles on Noirin instead of to just let her be. Now he has totally created a dependency in her toward him so that she is never far away from his side. She needs him now, now that he has made her feel that she cannot trust anybody else in the house.

What is with him? Who is he to target this girl in this way?

The sad thing is that Noirin does seem to have a knack for alienating people who could be good for her. She added to the nominations which got Cairon evicted from the house. Cairon was a champion of Noirin’s and very together as an individual, quite like Siavash. Being so laidback may have been what ticked Noirin off. The reason for that has yet to be learned.

Marcus sees Noirin beautiful, brimming with health and moving with ease and he thinks that she has had everything given to her, and feels that he has a right to make demands on her.

Why should such a blob of a creature plug himself in and begin draining the life when he had nothing to do with who she is? He is a parasite. He is beginning to chirp up while Noirin’s health and beauty are draining from her. He is a total drain on her. I can’t make the point enough. He is a leech. She is not responsible for whatever he has missed in his life.

He needs to leave her alone.

Noirin is fine!

Please give Noirin a break!

I wish people would give it a rest with the name calling on Noirin in Big Brother, BB10. An argument ensued in the house tonight after she went to the bedroom to ask the housemates in there if any of them had called her a bunny rabbit, to describe someone who hops from group to group. Siavash had told her this in the absence of the said housemates. Apparently, he did this to help her. How is it helping her to make her feel insecure about her relationships with people? You tell her that the people who she considers to be friends with are sniggering behind her back calling her unflattering names, how is she to feel about that? She wanted to know from them so she confronted them. This was the fairest and most honest thing she could have done. She betrayed nobody because she did not say who told her.

Siavash is one of my favourites in the house so I am very surprised at this shit staring from him. If he really wanted to help Noirin then why not tackle the gossipers, kind of like Halfwit did on his behalf, and actually stand up for Noirin?

The person at the base of this falling out between Noirin and Siavash is Marcus. Siavash was the one other competition he had regarding Noirin and when he realised he could not have Noirin he made sure that Siavash would see her in a bad light. This way he knocks out the competition and isolates her, so he can then pounce later on. He is not finished with her yet. This man has anger issues, and woe betide the woman who he sets his sights upon as a love interest. Whatever the woman’s response to him would be reason enough to go on a vengeful trip if she is not interested. It would not matter whether she rebuffs him outright or after ‘friendship’ has developed turns down his proposal once made.

People have said that he is turning into another Sree. No. He is worst than Sree.

What was Noirin supposed to do with information such as that given by Siavash about people that she believes she is friends with? Of course, she went to ask them about it. She could have kept quiet and let it fester having an inhibiting effect on her, and going on to aversely affect her relationship with the rest of the housemates. As a matter of fact, the housemates completely denied the accusations swearing on their mothers’ lives etc, so if what Siavash said was untrue what could be his motive?

As far as Noirin was concerned she is friends with most people in the house. This is not the reality for most people but it is her world to be friends with people.

That’s the thing about big brother or any situation where people come together from different backgrounds. It’s the fact that people arrive with their own unique mental culture based on their backgrounds.

Noirin has said in the past that the relationship she enjoys with her friends is very affectionate and she has a number of male friends who share in this affection with her. This goes on freely and without obligations or promises for anything beyond the friendship. She is used to having friends and making new friends easily with people where she comes from.

She is learning through her time in the big brother house that she will not find everybody to be on the same level with her. Learning and growing is a thing that we are doing all the time, and she is adjusting herself to the change.

People have criticised her following the clear attraction that people in the house have felt for her, saying that she was slow in letting them know clearly that she did not feel attraction for them in the way that they felt for her. People find Noirin to be a very attractive girl. She is warm, graceful, patient, tolerant and genuine. We saw these qualities on display in her handling of Sree, but, was swayed to become more firm with him following accusations from Siavash about ‘using and abusing’. People criticised her for not telling him right away that she did not feel for him as he admittedly felt for her. It was only 2 weeks into their meeting when he made his proclamation, she probably didn’t take it seriously. Who knows?

How has Noirin used or abused anybody? With Marcus she had been the one giving massages and doing his hair. These are easily the kinds of activities that she enjoys with her friends back home. But, I never even saw Marcus fetch her a cup of tea. Where does the accusation of using and abusing come into it? If anything it is the other way around. Following this he wanted something else. He did not go about discussing this with her in a respectful manner. Sree was even better in this sense. Instead, Marcus saw it as completely normal to ply her with drinks to intoxicate her and then crawled into her bed with her to make his proposition. I think many people can remember the eerie and cringe-worthy moment of him in her bed.

Even so she blew him out. Since then, he went on to slander her talking to Siavash about touching her in places he should not have done. Either he was lying or he was admitting assault on this girl disregarding her as a human being worthy of respect. This is a mistreatment of a girl who has been extremely tolerant of him. He has been highly critical of her calling her lazy.

Sadly, Siavash has played right into Marcus’s hands and has not seen through his scheme.

Things are closing in on her and it is down to the deviousness of this Marcus who seems to think that Noirin owes him something, like they drew out a contract when entering the Big Brother house.

Marcus is not a school kid. He needs to take responsibility for his behaviour. But, he still feels the need to act out some kind of vendetta on Noirin even though she has assumed responsibility, apologised and sought to change her way of relating with him that may wrongly encourage him.

Please relax the name calling on Noirin.
